There are a lot of wedding videography companies all around St. Louis who are selling wedding films, wedding highlights, wedding videos: a lot of different names for the same thing. Usually the package is some sort of 4 - 6 minute compilation of clips taken throughout the day, set to music. Sometimes you'll hear vows, toasts, or other audio from the day, sometimes not.
So with all the choices available in our area, how do you pick just the right person to film your wedding? How do you know that Applause is the right wedding videographer for you?
We think we are the right choice for wedding videography because we have done a lot of background work to ensure our reliability and deliverability. But does that really matter to you as the Bride or Groom? Regardless of the gear, the experience, or the price tag, the final product is what you want to fall in love with before you hire a wedding videographer.
In this post, I'm going to share a few films that showcase the style of wedding video we produce. The care taken to edit your film into a beautiful love story is what really makes the difference. Editing to the music, engaging the viewer, weaving the story from beginning to end with slow builds, dramatic reveals, joyous endings, all with seamless editing that is pleasure to watch, this is what makes a wedding film edited by Applause Weddings stand out from the crowd.
Here at Applause, we edit each film with help from the same team who shot the footage. This is how we ensure that each film is handcrafted to be unique, and to tell YOUR story.
The best part (in our opinion) is that we don't stop with just the Highlights! Our Applause packages include your Full-Length Ceremony as well as a long version of your Reception (we shoot until the Last Dance!) and all of this is NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE.
If you watch all of these wedding films, I think you'll be able to see that there is a range of feelings showcased in each one, because each couple's wedding day had it's own vibe! Sometimes its easy to view weddings as all being the same....there's prep, vows, photos, and dancing. And that's true, those elements exist in each wedding day schedule, but won't each of these elements be planned by you, and match your personality? Won't each of these wedding traditions have your own special spin put on them, to reflect the utter uniqueness of your love? This is what we aim to reveal when we edit your wedding video.
The follow videos are just a few of the wonderful 2018 weddings we filmed. For more including lots of one minute Sneak-Peeks (also included in your Applause Package), visit our YouTube channel.

Alex and Chris were joined together in marriage on March 11th, 2017 at Our Lady of the Pillar in St. Louis, Missouri. What a beautiful backdrop this church made with all of the stunning marble appointments. Even more stunning was our Bride, Alex. She graced the aisle on the arm of her father, wearing a lovely Morilee by Madeline Gardner wedding dress in ivory and light gold with a ball gown silhouette and a v-neckline and back and sheer lace straps that she found at The Bridal Shoppe. She met her Groom at the altar, who was smashing in his black tux with a champagne vest and bowtie that he acquired from Men’s Wearhouse. Surrounding them were bridesmaids who were dressed in coordinating colors in wine and petal pink by designer Bill Levkoff, all found at The Bridal Shoppe, and groomsmen who sported black tuxedos with wine colored vests and bowties, all found at Men’s Wearhouse. What a great looking group!
The Bridal Bouquet was a glorious arrangement of marsala, ivory, and blush toned flowers provided by Roses and Mint.
Father Bob Jones performed a touching wedding ceremony, uniting this special couple with the promise and vows of marriage. Wedding rings were exchanged, which were bought at Shane Co., and the Bride was kissed! We had Newlyweds! You know what that means! It is time to celebrate!
The party moved to a beautiful chateau in the middle of France…not really! But it was in the middle of Pacific, Missouri right off of Historic Route 66 at an impressive venue, Silver Oaks Chateau. What made this venue more striking than it already is was the snow that had fallen that day, dusting the tree branches and ground with a glistening white beauty. It made for spectacular videography, of course by our company, Applause Weddings, and photography by Jason Winkeler Photography. The drone camera footage we videographed is spectacular, as you can see in the highlight video posted here.
Our Newlyweds danced into the venue, and then Alex’s dad, Thomas gave a wonderful toast to Alex and Chris, and it sounded like he has had plenty of practice being that he has five daughters! Maid of Honor, Casey and Best Man, David, followed with their toasts to Our Couple and then the festivities began!
Alex and Chris chose wine, blush, champagne and gold for the décor of the venue. The tables sparkled with centerpieces in gold mercury glass, fresh flowers, candles and lanterns.
A delightfully decorated four tier wedding cake had it all! Under its white frosting and fresh flower décor was a delicious almond cake with raspberry jam filling and chocolate cake with salted caramel filling, magnificently done by Kaked by Katie. The Groom’s Cake was strawberry cake with chocolate and vanilla filling. A bit of cake smashing happened to the faces of Our Newlyweds during the cake cutting, but who wouldn’t want this delectable goodness smeared on their face?
A scrumptious dinner was provided by Ces & Judy's. After bellies were full, the dancing began! Chris and Alex danced to "Say You Won't Let Go" by James Arthur", the Father and Bride Dance was to “My Wish" by Rascal Flatts, and the Mother and Groom Dance was to "A Mother's Song" by T. Carter Music. These dances create such special memories!

Everybody on the dance floor and boogie your heart out and have a great time celebrating! More memories!
It really is about the memories. That is why having a wedding and reception professionally videographed and edited is so very important. After months of planning, the stress, and the hard earned money spent for this one extraordinary day, it only makes sense to have the events documented to cherish forever! I am sure Alex and Chris are so glad they chose to do so!
Mr. and Mrs. Friedman, thank you for making Applause Weddings part of your memories!

Jealousy. I'll admit it. Every time I saw another vendor post they had been at Silver Oaks Chateau I wanted to be there! Finally, Amy and Neil gave us the opportunity when they asked us to be their videographer for their spring wedding. We arrived just as hair and make up was being finished on the bridesmaids and had a great time filming all their getting ready footage, including a first look.
The chateau itself does not disappoint with it's stunning entryway, 2-level reception hall complete with stage (look for the band, Dirty Muggs in the highlight clip below), and outdoor patio with it's stately stone fireplace. Everything here just works for weddings. Check out some of the day with the highlights:
