2015 – Year In Review

2015 was another fantastic year for Applause Productions.  We played a lot of great venues, and produced some of the most beautiful videos we’ve seen to date.

There were so many to choose from, I had a hard time picking out just a few, but I finally narrowed it down! This year, we plan to blog as many of our weddings as possible, giving our future clients inspiration and information about all the different possibilities and how we provide the best DJ and Videography for every unique wedding that comes our way!

And now let me introduce 3 of my faves from 2015:

1) Michele and Alex
Applause Productions Provided: DJ, Videography, Ceremony Sound
This ceremony was supposed to take place at the Tower Grove Park Ruins and Fountain area, however the weather wasn’t too cooperative.  On the plus side, Michele and Alex were to have their reception at The Piper Palm House, and so a quick reset of the room and everyone was dry during the vows!  Afterwards, mother nature decided to start cooperating, giving the guests a beautiful cocktail hour on the patio.  After the formalities of a Grand Entry and some Toasts, Butler’s Pantry provided an amazing array of hot and cold appetizers, nothing short of delicious!  This group was truly a party-loving crowd, dancing their hearts out all night!  Check out the highlights from this unforgettable event and couple:

2) Monique and Kevin
Applause Productions Provided:  DJ, Videography, Ceremony Sound
If there was ever a wedding in our repertoire that resembled a scene from a TV show, this was it!  The street in front of Monique’s parent’s home set the scene for this ceremony.  Rows of white chairs on a cobblestone path, surrounded by family homes and tall trees, finished off with an arbor for an altar, you could truly feel the love and support of this couple’s friends and family when they said “I Do”.  After the ceremony it was off to Crown Valley Winery for a reception in the charming barrel room.   The couple chose a Sweetheart Table instead of a sprawling head table, where they enjoyed the toasts and speeches from their attendants.  And who says you need a knife to cut the cake?  Check out their choice of tools in their highlight video:
3) Jerod and Robyn
Applause Productions Provided: DJ, Videography, Uplighting
This one may be considered a little unfair, as it happens to be one of our Nephews, but how could we resist.  Not only are family weddings the best, the ones with beautiful churches and unique reception venues are like icing on the (wedding) cake!  This wedding takes us outside of the Lou, in none other than Missouri’s capital, Jefferson City.  The day began at St. Peter’s Church, just a block from the Capital Building. Robyn and her girls enjoyed getting ready on-site, including all hair and makeup, and putting on a dress made for a princess.  Following the ceremony, the wedding party headed out for pictures while the guests made a very short journey to The Millbottom.  This venue has an industrial feel, yet still felt inviting with the table settings and decor added by this couple.  With a full stage, the DJ set up with uplights, still left room for the wedding party to line up for a champagne toast before heading to the second level where they enjoyed private dining overlooking the guests.  After an authentic Kansas City BBQ dinner, the Bride and Groom, plus their attendants, were back downstairs and the party started!  Things were going hot all night on the dance floor as this crowd was loving the wide variety of music.  Check out both their entire ceremony as well as their highlights:
